Dan Isiagi described scoring twice in our 4-2 win over UPDF Football Club in the Azam Uganda Premier League as a ‘great feeling’ after a positive performance up front.
The stylish forward broke the deadlock in the 34th minute from close range, nodding in a well delivered cross from a free kick by David Owori and got his second on the 73rd minute mark ( Fahad Bayo - assist) to restore Proline’s lead after the visited had equalized – 2-2.
In doing so, he earned himself the Prolinefc.com Man of the Match performance as we recorded a thumping win against the army side.
Isiagi, whose brace was very instrumental in yesterday’s win told Prolinefc.com in a post match interview that it was a great feeling and great solid performance from the team.
The 21-year-old forward said it was key to follow up Kirinya Jinja SS FC defeat with a victory, ahead of Tuesday’s trip stubborn Maroons Football Club.
‘We played very well and scored more goals than they scored,’ Isiagi said.
‘We enjoy playing like that and we have to be ready for the next fixtures coming up. Scoring goals for me makes me very happy. We wanted that win and it was very important,’ he added.
‘I’m very happy I got to score that goal to open our account and I’m glad that Bayo connected with me very well for my second and third for the team.’
Isiagi was pleased with the all-round display of the players who took to the field, even though at some time, they relaxed to give the visitors the goals; particularly that second goal from Julius Maliyamungu.
‘We responded like wounded lions and I am glad it paid off shortly.’
David Owori and Fahad Bayo Aziz scored the other two goals while the visitors scored through Issa Mubiru and Maliyamungu.
Proline has only one day to rest and prepare for the trip to Maroons Football Club on Tuesday - and Isiagi is already looking forward to playing the Luzira based Uganda Prisons side,
‘We will be playing against one of the best organized teams in the league so we shall try to win. It’s not going to be easy but we shall go for the best result.’
