Proline FC unveils players ahead of new AUPL season

Proline Fotball Club utilized the Club’s Awards night on Saturday 12th August to unveil the players  their first team squad ahead of the 2016/17 Azam Uganda Premier League season‚ including new signing,Saviou Kabugo.

The acquisition of this highly rated defender on a free transfer from URA with give coach Mujib Kasule options in the defense ahead of the season which kicks off on Friday, 19th, 2016.

Kabugo could be a top signing for the team if he can regain full fitness.

Proline moved further to improve their defense with the signing of Mustafa Mujuzi from synergy FC, a Big League outfit, Farouk Musisi from Lweza Football Club and ‚ Cranes forward Nelson Senkatuka who joins from KCCA Football Club.

Nelson is the headline act. His experience of playing in for KCCA FC and the Uganda Cranes in the CECAFA Cup will aid what is a fairly young Proline squad.

Midfielder Sam Kintu ‘Tiyo’ has arrived from Express, while forward Danniel Isaigi came in from KCCA FC.

A number of young stars have been promoted from Proline Soccer Academy. These young midfielders, including the twin brothers Ivan Kato Kaaya and Robert Wasswa Sembatya as well as Jousha Okiror and Hanny Hanson Asimwe.

Proline Chief Executive Officer, William Bakkabulindi  says the club has worked within their means to back up coach Mujib Kasule following their promotion to the Azam Uganda Premier League last season.

‘We have reinforced the squad in consultation with the head coach for an improved performance this coming season‚’ Bakkabulindi said.

‘We do not have the luxury of huge budgets to arrange a whole lot of big name quality players; but as a club, we have a youth structure that is very supportive and we have done our best to secure quality players within our budget and the academy,’ he added.
